Title:
system crashes on start-up (acpid error 1)
Status in “acpid” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:

2. apt-cache policy acpid
acpid:

3. flawless upgrade from 9.04
4. upgrade ending with returning the message: returned error exit status 1; this also showed on a flickering screen after reboot and ending at a blinking prompt. Able to restart system with previous kernel version (2.6.28-15) in 9.04. Reinstalled acpid (after complete removal), acpi-support had te be removed also. With new install depends of acpi-support were also installed (previously not on the system).
Apt-log showing that upstart-logd (0.3.9-8) has broken depends on upstart (0.6.3-10).
Hopefully after rebooting a working 9.10 system; otherwise there's
work to be done... Good luck on that one!
