Binary package hint: emacs-snapshot

I updated my system today and got strange font rendering problems in
emacs. I tested emacs23 23.1+1-4ubuntu7 and emacs-snapshot-gtk
20090909-1 . Both behave exactly the same. The bug is very easy to
repeat:

 1. Open a vanilla Emacs (via emacs -Q)
 2. Move the cursor repeatedly over text with the arrow keys

Some characters will be written on top of each other or in slightly
incorrect places. See attached screenshot.

My system is Ubuntu 10.10 amd64.
