Public bug reported:

After upgrading to udev 172 in Oneiric, Xorg will no longer recognize
any of the mice or keyboards connected to my laptop, causing it to
become unusable. I tried reverting to udev 171, but this does not fix
the problem. I do not know which one of the udev 172 updates initially
caused the bug because I did not attempt to reboot after installing
-0ubuntu1. I only rebooted after this morning's update. I have not
installed/updated any other packages or made any other configuration
change that could have caused this, so I am pretty sure that udev is at
fault. Please let me know if there are any logs or anything I can
provide from the system. I already checked and there is nothing
abnormal in either dmesg or the xorg log, except for the lack of
detected input devices.

** Affects: udev (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
