This bug actually has all the information necessary to determine the
problem.  In syslog we see the following:

This generally indicates an error with your media, however given your
statements regarding the work you've done it likely isn't the media but
possibly the drive itself.  I'd try cleaning the drive and or checking
the cables that connect it to your motherboard.

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  I haven been trying to install Ubuntu 11.04 from the Live CD for 2
  days now, I have tried different CDs thinking making the info got
  corrupted during the burn, I have slowed the burn speed down, I have
  checked the MD5Sum. I can use my Windows 7 Install disc and install
  windows with no problem, but I no longer want anything to do with
  Windows.
