Hi Brendan,

Did you try looking at the "visible" property for a widget? "If True,
the widget is visible".

I'm not sure how this would fit in the code so I didn't try it myself,
but it might be of help.

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: update-manager

  Run update-manager on a laptop that is not connected to AC power.

  You will get the following notification :
  - in english : "It’s safer to connect the computer to AC power before updating."
  - in french : "Il est plus sûr de brancher l'ordinateur sur une alimentation secteur avant la mise à jour."

  In french, you don't get the end of the sentence (truncated on
  "jour").

  The sentence should automatically go to the line.
