Title:
Unable to mount root file system with a kernel higher than 2.6.31-4

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: initramfs-tools

I am not able to mount the root file system with any kernel higher
  than 2.6.31-4. Even 2.6.32 isn't working.

The problem may be related to me using the ext4 filesystem. I have
already been useing it since 9.4 (Kernel 2.6.29).
