I have the same problem on Kubuntu 10.10. When I look through the mailing lists, I find other reports for the same problem that go back to at least Kubuntu 9.

Bug description:
Binary package hint: usb-creator
I have tried with multiple iso files (11.04 and 10.10) and this
happens every time I try to create a USB startup disk. The prcoess
gets to 99% and then ends with "An uncaught exception was raised:
[Errno 2] No such file or directory. The pop up box only gives me the
option to Quit.
