[Bug 804983] [NEW] update manager stucks in middle of process

my system specs:
HP Compaque Business Desktop DX6100
P4 3.0 Ghz
1024 MB RAM 2 SATA HDD , 20, 40, 
Dual Boot with Win 7
Win 7 on hd0
Ubuntu 11.04 on hd1

While updating ubuntu, update manager throws error and suggest filing
bug report

'E:Unable to parse package file /var/lib/apt/lists/archive.ubuntu
.com_ubuntu_dists_natty-updates_universe_binary-i386_Packages (1), E:The
package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.'

I tried to update many times but same thing happened again and again.
Yesterday it was working fine.
