Public bug reported:
I was installing Precise Pangolin ALPHA 1, amd64, on a LiveCD (~695 MB).
I was using seven partitions on my drive. The computer is the IdeaPad
Z575 from Lenovo. Keep in mind that this computer uses AMD's infamous
llano chipset with its A6-3400M. When the computer is set up for the
first time after buying it, it comes with five partitions on the drive,
I believe. One is used for Windows, at least two are used for recovery
purposes, and the other two I'm not sure about. One of them is 210 MB in
size, sda1, labeled LENOVO. I shrank the Windows partition, sda2 in
order to add two partitions, one being around 50 GB of ext4 for Ubuntu
and the other around 5 GB for swap space. They were designated sda6 and
sda7, respectively. I was not present when the crash happened, but I
believe it happened sometime while the installer was copying files. I
had already chosen my local city and keyboard layout. The Windows 7
partition was shrunk using GParted 64-bit before booting the LiveCD. I
should lastly mention that I chose for the bootloader to be installed on
sda6, which was to be Ubuntu's ext4 partition, mounted as / (filesystem
root).
