Title:
12.04 alpha1 update manager does not update

Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
I'm using a fresh install of 12.04 alpha1 on my LG laptop (multi-
boot). The update manager starts normally; it appears introducing the
availability of new updates. It can also check for them. However
clicking the 'Install Updates' buttons yeilds nothing. The cursor just
keeps revolving endlessly. I use the terminal to do a [sudo apt-get
update/upgrade] but there always seems to be other updates in the
  graphical 'update-manager' which I can't get.
