Title:
ls hangs after using sshfs mount on a sub-directory

Status in “coreutils” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
Using lucid LTS on both client and server machines. Recently, I installed fuse and did mount on sshfs in a sub-directory in my home directory.
  Here was the command:
  sshfs -o idmap=user <my-user-on-remote>@tagz-2:/ /home/<my-user-name>/tagmount/
After this ls on the sub-dir tagmount worked and I could see files from server.

But, after weekend when I again tried to do ls or used konqueror to
see files in that dir they both keep hanging.

Even "ls ~" keeps hanging and even Ctrl-C cannot kill it. I just had to do kill -9.
strace shows hanging on stat64 on the sshfs mount directory.

I saw Bug #264313 which is similar but the work-around specified there doesn't work for me.
I think neither this nor Bug #264313 should be closed. These should be considered high priority bugs as nothing should hang without recourse.

In the meantime, please let me know if there is any work-around. I am
still unable to do ls or use dolphin in the home dir.
