I have this bug since I updated from 11.04 to 11.10 on all upgraded
computers. A clean install does'nt have this problem.

  Binary package hint: update-manager

  I wanted to upgrade intrepid(64bit) to jaunty. It told me, it
  couldn´t:

  2009-02-18 23:09:04,091 DEBUG Marking 'ubuntu-desktop' for upgrade
  2009-02-18 23:09:05,688 DEBUG Can't mark 'ubuntu-desktop' for upgrade (E:Kann Probleme nicht korrigieren, Sie haben gehaltene defekte Pakete.)
  2009-02-18 23:10:11,971 ERROR Dist-upgrade failed: 'Can not mark 'ubuntu-desktop' for upgrade'

  
  This "(E:Kann Probleme nicht korrigieren, Sie haben gehaltene defekte Pakete.)" means:
  cannot solve problems. you are holding defect packages...
