Bug description:
  I upgraded to 11.10 ages ago and yet over the past couple of days or
  so, I've started having do-release-upgrade crashes happening again.

  I get a popup box saying that the system wants to report a problem, it
  asks me for my password to ascend to root privs and then reports
  issue.
