This change has been done and reverted in Debian, as the support is still experimental.

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: imagemagick

  --enable-hdri is not enabled for this package for lucid.  Is there any
  reason why it should not be?  I'm using AMD64 arch and I would think
  that on this platform it ought to be enabled.  This is why I moved to
  AMD64 technology.  Thanks.
