This bug was reported quite some time ago and I haven't seen any recent
reports of this issue so I'm curious to know whether or not this happens
with a current version of the Live CD. Could you possibly download a
Live CD of 11.10, or 12.04 since we are currently working on that, and
test to see if this issue still exists? Thanks in advance.

Title:
64bit LiveCD behaves erratically on 6GB RAM machine, works as expected
with mem=2048M kernel option
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Binary package hint: live-installer
I get various errors with the 64bit LiveCD on my system with 6GB of
RAM installed, including hanging on starting up the bluetooth service
on booting up, errors copying data to the hard drive during install,
slow performance and drive reads, and so on.
The system works perfectly if I add the boot option of "mem=2048M". I
haven't had a chance to test out 4096M, but will do so soon. This
seems like it's a fairly major bug. Should I be using a server kernel
with this much RAM? I can download new LiveCD's and test them, I would
prefer to not reinstall yet again, though.
