Title:
Wireless networks not detected in installer screen

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: ubiquity

I was installing ubuntu 10.10 beta on amd64 system.

The installer has a step where it asks users for a wireless network and password.
I have an atheros based 802.11bgn PCI-E card in my computer and it correctly detected / works like charm after installation (without any updates). During installation I changed to VT1 and issued iwlist scan to confirm the card can detect my wireless network.

My network uses WPA2 but there are several open networks in my
vicinity that were not detected either.
