Your system is trying to upgrade to the 12.04 version, which is still
not available (it will be only avalable in April 2012). So it is not
advisable at all to upgrade to that version yet.
If you want to upgrade now you will be only able to upgrade step by step
going from 10.04 -> 10.10 -> 11.04 -> 11.10 . You have of course the
option to wait until April 2012 and upgrade directly and in one step to
version 12.04.
If you want to upgrade step by step until version 11.10 you have to open
the Ubuntu Software Center, and at the Edit menu choose Software
Sources. Click on the "Updates" tab and at "Notify me of a new version"
choose "Notify me of any new version" (you may have the option to be
notified only of long term support releases). Then "update-manager -d"
will give you the option to update to 10.10 to go to the step by step
route mentioned before.

I was trying to update Ubuntu 10.04 to Ubuntu 10.10 but I can't.
Any suggestion? I'm new in this system...
