Title:
Unity Dash does not always recognize input
Status in “unity” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
I've been having some issues with the dash not recognizing input when
I quickly hit <super>, start typing, and hit enter. If I do it too
quickly the dash will show up but nothing I typed gets inputted into
the dash search. This is very annoying, and it not a problem I have
with any other launchers (i.e. gnome-shell activity view, synapse,
gnome-do ect...). I have to wait 1-2 seconds after the dash is opened
for it to take my input.
Sometimes I also have a similar but slightly different issue. Once
again, if I very quickly hit <super> start typing and hit enter it
will not open the correct program, but instead a random nautilus
window. For example if I quickly open the dash, type "clem" and hit
enter nautilus pops up. If I open the dash, wait 1-2 seconds, type
"clem" and hit enter clementine opens as expected.
My laptop has decent specs (2.53 GHz i5 460m, 4gb ddr3, 640gb hdd,
intel ironlake graphics). I am using ubuntu 11.10 64 bit and using
unity 3d.
