As a workaround I was able to install using all the same options by
using the Kubuntu Alternate 64bit install image.

  sda is 256GB SSD, sda1 EXT4, swap 16GB, 17GB unknown dell service partition
  sdb is 500GB Seagate hybrid drive EXT4 mount on /data
  Intel i7
  NVIDIA Quadro 3000M
  16GB RAM
  Encrypted home folder

  Installer crashes after swap format at 20% during start of install
  while configuring packages.
