Title:
gnome-orca doesn't read what is displayed on the screen whilst
installing
Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
I have been executing the DesktopAccessibility (Ubiquity) test case
(http://testcases.qa.ubuntu.com/Install/DesktopAccessibility) and the
gnome-orca component reads the name of the controls instead of the
text on the screen.
For instance, on the Installation screen "Preparing to install
Ubuntu", the text read on the screen won't be "Download updates while
installing" but a weird combinations of words and underscores that
doesn't sound totally useful.
It won't read the part where the system requirements are met:
"For best results, please ensure that this computer:
x has at least 4.5 GB available drive space
x is connected to the Internet"
It will start reading directly on the two select controls, not reading
the text on the screen but their internal names.
