Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears
to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security
issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to
cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy.
Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

Title:
Command: echo <package_name> hold is not working
Status in “samba” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
Hi there,
I'm trying to lock version in the samba package to be impossible to
update the package with the command: echo samba hold | dpkg --set-
selections , but when i make apt-get install samba the package start
to install.
I want to prevent that someone make the mistake to update the package with the apt-get command using the command echo <package> hold.
Isn't suppose the echo <package> hold prevent/block the apt-get install ?
Thanks is advanced.
