[Bug 838218] [NEW] blinking cursor seen at EOL during text boot screen

Public bug reported:

This was discovered when booting an Oneiric daily build from 20110831 -
the i386 Ubuntu CD image.

During the boot splash screen a cursor appears at the end of the ....
line and started blinking.  I managed to capture a screenshot of it and
it is attached.
