That is actually true; the btrfsck does absolutely no fixing.

However there is btrfs-zero-log which is part of the btrfs-tools _source
package_. I got my partition mountable again with it. I suggest it to be
added to the btrfs-tools package binary package. Just a one liner to
tell make to build it.

** Summary changed:

- Alternate CD lacks fsck.btrfs
+ btrfs-tools lacks btrfs-zero-log

** Package changed: ubuntu => btrfs-tools (Ubuntu)

Title:
  btrfs-tools lacks btrfs-zero-log

Status in “btrfs-tools” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  I have a completely hosed oneiric setup with btrfs-root (kernel BUG,
  will report upstream, and I know, my own damn fault;) which I would
  like to try to fix with fsck.btrfs.

  Unfortunately alternative CD lacks this tool, but contains fsck.<fs>
  for all the rest of filesystems supported by alternate installation.
