Prova così:

- Aprire gestore pacchetti;
- Trovare grub-pc e "rimuovere completamente";
- Intallare nuovamente grub-pc e riavviare;
- Al riavvio da terminale digitare: "sudo update-grub".

Buona fortuna.  Good Good Good

Bug description:

  I have partitioned my hd for second time as I have installed Ubuntu
  64 bit, In the first time I partitioned my hard drive, I have
  installed Ubuntu 32, And I still conserve a Windows Installation, the
  thing is in time I Install any software via Synaptic, Software centre
  or Update manager, in any of both Ubuntus I get this error code 128,
  and thing is that the second logical volume in which I have the root
  directory of Ubuntu 64 boots first than the volume in which I have
  Ubuntu 32, as I have Installed Ubuntu 64 later overrinding the first
  GRUB in Ubuntu 32's partition with the Ubuntu 64's GRUB.

  In synaptic In can see that grub-pc 1.98-1ubuntu7 is installed but as
  I got these error messages (always 128) It seems that grub-pc cannot
  be configured, and every time I boot I have GRUB 1.98-1ubuntu5 on
  screen.
