Bug description:
  Happened on the heels of trying to reinstall the Movie Player from the
  Ubuntu Software Center, which it did not do. Saw notice of new
  updates. Thinking that that may be holding up reinstall. When I
  started the Update Manager and asked it to check for updates it
  crashed.
