Title:
gnome-codec-install crashed with DBusException in _run():
org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Did not receive a reply. Possible
causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the
message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout
expired, or the network connection was broken.
Status in “gnome-codec-install” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
I'm using Ubuntu 11.10 Alpha 3, and I just tried opening an MP3 file. It opened with Banshee by default now in stead of Totem :(
When I clicked the play button (after Banshee's extremely slow start it didn't start playing automatically) I got the pop-up wich I used to see in Totem, asking me to install codecs. I clicked the install button, the warning box about limited support and all that crap (may be good just to integrate it in the window wich asks you if you want to install the codecs, getting a seperate window for it is quite annoying, just a little hint) popped up, I clicked the Install button again, and got a message saying gnome-codec-installer had crashed. The dialog asking me if I wanted to install the codecs didn't disappear though and still responded.
By "the window asking me if I wanted to install codecs" I mean the one listing the ones wich need to be installed, not the small dialog wich pops up at first. I run all the latest available updates.
