Title:
grub2 constructs entries that don't work for Mandriva

Status in “grub2” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: grub2

I did not look at the source for grub2

I am using Karmic Koala with the grub2 updated yesterday

grub2 creates entries for both Mandriva and Mandriva beta (both on my
PC) but they don't work. I didn't photograph the error message but
it's something about not liking the choice of vga (not deregulated or
  degenerated but something like that).

if grub2 doesn't like that choice, couldn't it pick an alternative or
  just drop it?

What I expected: an entry with Mandriva in the title that actually
  booted Mandriva

What happened: an entry with linux in the title that fails to boot
  Mandriva

  ProblemType: Bug
  Architecture: amd64

   SHELL=/bin/bash
  ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.31-13.44-generic
  SourcePackage: grub2
  Uname: Linux 2.6.31-13-generic x86_64
