Well, one is for UPdating apps and the other is for DOWNloading new
apps... I believe Synaptic won't be on the Ubuntu 11.10 final CD so this
is probably less of a concern.

The icons for "Synaptic Package Manager" and "Update Manager" might be
confusing for novice users.
The arrows in these icons point in opposite directions, suggesting that they,
somehow signify actions which are also opposite.
