Bug description:
  The Software Center starts normally, search works, BUT pressing
  Install doesn't do anything. The output in Terminal is the following:

  TypeError: character mapping must return integer, None or unicode

  Seems like the problem has something to do with the object of string
  type, which is to be a unicode string.
