  ubdate manager cannot get lock - error

Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: update-manager

  10.04 beta updated on daily basis.

  I note that System monitor is running.
  ubuntu one sync has previously completed.

  I have recently finished a large download sync in ubuntu one - worked
  well - then I checked using system>admin>update manager

  then see error window:
  E: Could not get lock /var/lib/dpkg/lock - open (11: Resource temporarily unavailable)
  E: Unable to lock the administration directory (/var/lib/dpkg/), is another process using it?
  E: _cache->open() failed, please report.
