Bug description:
  Binary package hint: software-center

  openoffice, skype and vlc media player work, but have greek letters
  spelling the english words in all the menus/drop down menus. they were
  fine originally and must have changed during one of the updates.
  orginally installed 10.04 lts.  now have 10.10. same problem on both.
  all came with the release or were downloaded via software center.
