Bug description:
  Binary package hint: software-center

  Description:	Ubuntu maverick (development branch)
  Release:	10.10 (advancement from lucid lynx install)

  software-center ver 2.1.22.1 (latest)

  After opening software center, i just clicked in the upper left panel the "get software" to open the repos list.
  I started to browse them from top, and all was fine, until i clicked the  "pidgin ppa for developers" (checking in the repos in synaptic, it was marked as disabled, the apt string as follow http://ppa.launchpad.net/pidgin-developers/ppa/ubuntu maverick) automatically imported from Lynx.

  in the middle panel there was still the loading animation, and 1
  element listed as available. Almost immediately the crash bug report
  appeared.

  Closing and reopening the software center and clicking on that ppa
  always causes the crash.

  
  Going again in synaptic, ticking the pidgin ppa and reloading packages info looks fixing it.
