Hi this bug was filed against the wrong project. Sorry about that.
If you're still around or care, file it against Wubi should you
experience this behavior in newer releases.

Title:
Wubi/Ubuntu fails to boot after install
Status in “app-install-data-ubuntu” package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
ubuntu-8.10-desktop-amd64.iso(not the one in choose, I don't know did not work)
I recently upgraded Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit to Vista Ultimate 64-bit. In the process I uninstalled wubi/Ubuntu 8.10. When I tried to reinstall, everything seem to work until the reboot. I had three choices:
------------------
There are a total of 3 entries listed in the Vista Bootloader.
Bootloader Timeout: 10 seconds.
Default OS: Microsoft Windows Vista
Entry #1
Name: Microsoft Windows Vista
BCD ID: {current}
Drive: C:\
Bootloader Path: \Windows\system32\winload.exe
Windows Directory: \Windows
Entry #2
Name: HP Recovery Manager
BCD ID: {572bcd55-ffa7-11d9-aae2-0007e994107d}
Drive: [D:]\sources\boot.wim
Bootloader Path: \windows\system32\boot\winload.exe
Windows Directory: \windows
Entry #3
Name: Ubuntu
BCD ID: {091dc1bf-bfec-11dd-829d-001e8c362311}
Drive: C:\
Bootloader Path: \ubuntu\winboot\wubildr.mbr
-----------------------------
Entry #1 boots to Vista, but Entry # 3 just sits there.
When try to run C:\ubuntu\winboot\wubildr.exe, I get the following message:
This version of the file is not compatible with he version of Windows you're running. etc.
I am giving up for now as I've tried it several times.
