  update-manager crashed with SIGSEGV in PyString_FromString()

Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  In response to a previous bug, I was told to run "sudo service apport
  start force_start=1" before opening Update Manager and trying to
  reinstall a package that had crashed. I got this.
