Run dpkg --clear-avail to fix your problem. In any case, this is not a
dpkg problem but one of the corresponding package that you used to have
installed.

** Changed in: dpkg (Ubuntu)
       Status: New => Invalid

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: dpkg

  I get next message while trying to install any package, apt-get update
  don't help:

  warning, in file '/var/lib/dpkg/available' near line 53150 package 'virtualbox-3.0':

  Looks like "_" symbol is incorrect.
