Title:
crash installing to pre-formatted root partition

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: ubiquity

Booted Maverick RC from cd. Specified a pre-existing, formatted ext4
partition for root (/). The pre-existing fs was completely empty.
  Also specified a pre-existing (non-empty) fs for /home.

A pop-up appeared at the same time as the "Where are you?" timezone
dialog. The pop-up said "Installer crashed" and said to file this bug
  report.

I will attach /var/log/partman and /var/log/syslog as requested by the
  pop-up.

No specific information was included in the pop-up (the text ended
with a ":" as though something was supposed to follow, but there was
just 1/2 inch of blank space and the "Close" button).
