  installer crashed and instructed to file bug report. new to ubuntu and
  1st try at install

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: ubiquity

  I was installing ubuntu via usb installer and it crashes on install.
  Crashed twice in a row.  I chose format hard drive and use entire
  partition.  ubuntu version 10.10  my pc is a HP Pavilion DV 6000 32bit
  machine
