Public bug reported:
I'm using Ubuntu 11.10 dev with apt 0.8.15.5ubuntu1. Since ~1 week after
an upgrade of apt the package lists get loaded too often. For example if
I make a "apt-get update" I'm downloading ~17,6 MB of data. After the
lists are stored apt reads them and this process needs a few seconds.
But now apt reads this lists on every action. For example if I make a
"apt-get dist-upgrade" the package lists are readed like after I
downloaded them (if I make a second "apt-get dist-upgrade" it happens
again).
** Affects: apt (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
