The DSL modem cable is physically plugged into the NIC that is NOT on the mother board and everything I can see in the config files (I'll paste them below) tells me that eth1 should have a static ip address (I even reinstalled firestarter and set eth0 as the internet connection and eth1 as the lan), but ifconfig still tells me that dhcp is running both devices and there is no static ip for eth1. Can you figure out what it is that's controlling my settings?
