kernel panic on thin clients...

I am seeing kernel panic on thin clients with Jaunty in classic LTSP
mode (as it comes out of the box). Evidently, this is a Ubuntu bug,
and not a LTSP bug. Some people have had success by passing boot
parameters in grub. How would I set boot parameters for the thin
client?
