If you have fixed ip-numbers, you can shutdown client remotely in the 
chroot.

asmok at ubuntu:~$ ssh root at 192.168.1.244 'shutdown -h now'
root at 192.168.1.244's password:
asmok at ubuntu:~$

This is not what you asked about logout user, but useful in some cases.
