To remove it from the default gnome session, edit
/usr/share/gnome/default.session. For any existing accounts, you'll need to
remove it from $HOME/.gnome2/session.

An excellent resource to have, as a Gnome administrator, is the Gnome Desktop
System Administration Guide. See:

http://library.gnome.org/admin/system-admin-guide/stable/ for the online, and
http://www.gnome.org/learn/admin-guide/gnome2.14-system-admin-guide.pdf
for a printable pdf.
