Can the Server CD be used to setup clients?

I have an old Mac G3 and I do have a powerpc Server CD burned.  Can I
boot from that CD as a "LiveCD" w/o installing and use that for
installing the powerpc chroot on an i386 server platform?  If so, what boot
option should I use?

Or do I need to boot with the Desktop CD instead?

The G3 only has 96MB of RAM, btw.
