Error: /bin/sh: Can't access tty; job control turned off

The reason im using the tar method is when i boot into system rescue CD, it will start booting and then about half way it comes out with 
 
/bin/sh: Can't access tty; job control turned off
 
both the tar Method and System rescue cd has problems
Can anyone tell me either it is a hardware problem or a software problem...
 
Even better can you tell me a solution please....
