Audio Video chat on Kubuntu

*I am unable to use the audio/video chat on Kubuntu 6.10 through aMSN.*
*The Creative PD 1001 cam is detected by Kubuntu but cannot be initialised
with aMSN 0.96.*
*Can someone please give some advise as to how this is done. I am a newbie
with Linux based systems and do not know compiling.*
*Have tried other sources unsucessfully.*
*Any assistance provided will be highly appreciated. I like Kubuntu and want
to discontinue using Windows XP.*
