Webcam Help

*Can someone please be kind enough to advise about use of Creative Webcam
model PD 1001 on Kubuntu 6.10.*
*This cam is detected but cannot be used because I am a newbie with Linux
based Distros and cannot do compilation.*
*Instructions, advise, assistance and help given in this regard will be
highly appreciated.*
