flash plugins in Firefox

maybe or maybe not. Are you using 32bit or 64bit, what exactly have you tried?

If you're using a 64bit OS, I don't belive flash will work (though I
maybe wrong), also while flash should work shockwave is not available
for linux to the best of my knowledge.
