The project to create the latest version of LTSP (network booting thin
client). In use by edubuntu as of version 6.10.
The lightweight directory access protocol is a type of database used
commonly for keeping accounts (usernames, passwords, groups, etc.) in.
Edubuntu is to move from plain text files to LDAP in the upcoming version
7.04 due out in April. This will (among other things) better facilitate
managing multiple servers, etc. There should still be a similar point and
click program for creating accounts, setting passwords, etc. It's just
that the underlying storage method is different and much more flexible.
