Hi,
I have no experience with Mac domaincontrollers. Maybe you can give some
more information regarding this?
If it has an LDAP backend, authentication shouldn't be a problem. If
your using an Edubuntu terminal server, you could mount the /home from
the Mac box with on the Edubuntu server with NFS.
If you want to do this with stand alone ubuntu machines, authentication
is still possible, but its not safe to mount the home directory on all
the machines.
