we had discussed this topic in several meetings and we had a voting in
the #edubuntu channel where about 20 people were attending ... i
currently see 3 complaints here on the mailing list ... i dont think its
appropriate to say "every edubuntu user" and ignore that the change
request was brought up by users...

note that there are several threads in this mailing list (the first
dated Aug. 15th) where wallpapers/artwork were discussed

i'm pretty neutral about the artwork issue, i liked my now so called
"mustard" background and had a lot positive feedback, even if it was
only a placeholder... but i'm only the techie here... it seems there was
a demand in the community for inclusion of community created artwork...
so what else should we do but respect the voting of the majority and
pick the highest rated artwork we have ?

note that we plan to have professionally created artwork (wallpaper and
the splash screens at least) in dapper...
